Wendy Woo's CD: Angels Laughing

Listening to Wendy Woo at this very moment. Love the CD, Angels Laughing.

Wendy Woo is a Boulder-based singer-songwriter who "was part of the 1999 Lilith Fair in Denver, sharing the stage with Sarah McLachlan and the Indigo Girls. She has opened for Sheryl Crow, India.Arie, Counting Crows, Shawn Colvin, 38 Special, Dave Mason, Stanley Jordan, Eric Johnson, Karla Bonoff, The Crash Test Dummies, Sonia Dada, Sean Mullins, Sophie B. Hawkins, and Loudon Wainwright III. and other national acts."

Especially interesting to me, given that a family friend just finished a year at the Naropa Institute, is that Woo's parents were founding members of that Boulder instiution.

Wendy Woo Concert

Friday, 23 July 2010

Awesome free concert with great weather, great venue, and great music: Wendy Woo with four band members at the Antler's Plaza in downtown Colorado Springs at noon on a warm day with high clouds.

Got lucky with the closest of metered parking. Snagged seat at one of three small tables set up in front of the band; no one in front of me. Two other Baby Boomers eventually joined me, strangers all.

Have yet to play Wendy Woo's 2005 solo live acoustic CD which she signed for me after the concert, but, hey, the night is young. Only negative of today's music experience: Woo deserved a bigger audience and more CD buyers.
